Sweet & Spicy Gochujang Salmon
Recipe
Total Time: 1 hr
Cook Time: 10-15 hr Feeds 4-5 people
Ingredients
2 lb of Salmon (I love the skin but it is not needed)
3 Tbsp of Gochujang (You can find this in most grocery stores but if you can’t here is the link. It lasts very long in the fridge and I like the extra hot, but medium or mild is fine as well.)
3 Tbsp of Low Sodium Soy Sauce
1 head of garlic diced
3 Teaspoon of Sesame Oil
3 Tablespoons of Honey
1 Tablespoon of MSG
3 Teaspoons of Mushroom Powder
1 teaspoon of white pepper
1 Tbsp of Gochugaru (optional to make it very spicy)
Scallions to garnish
Sesame seeds to garnish
Method
Preheat Oven to 350 F or 180 C
Add your diced garlic, Gochujang, Soy Sauce, and Honey to a bowl and mix to combine
Add your MSG, Mushroom Powder, White Pepper, and optional Gochugaru to the bowl and mix thoroughly.
Make sure to taste the sauce to see if it is to your liking, I had to add a bit more Honey to mine to balance it out.
Line foil on your baking sheet and then put salmon skin side down on the baking sheet.
Add your sauce to the baking dish and coat the salmon thoroughly. If you have extra sauce I used it to stir fry some vegetables.
Put into oven and Bake for 10-15 minutes till It comes out to a perfect medium.
Top with Sesame Seeds and Scallions for that perfect Instagram-worthy picture and enjoy with some sticky rice and seaweed!
